Clean This book was excellent. Weiss clearly explains the difference between being forgiven (1 John 1:9) and being healed (James 5:16) in a very helpful manner. It's easy to equate being forgiven with being healed, but Weiss's handling helps make the necessary transition from one to the other.

The book concludes with a strong call for men to be advocates for sexual healing within their community of men (church, friends, etc.) that takes the battle to Satan.

My group enjoyed the book and got quite a lot out of it. Highly recommended.

While Weiss's understanding of sexual addiction is unquestionable, I found myself regularly being frustrated by his behaviorism. He consistently missed the opportunity to press into deeper relational health by stopping short of discussing the "whys" behind our acting out.

This book points out the need to be clean which brings me conviction. It also points out the need for Jesus which confirms my faith. It may not change my life but it's another book that points me in the right direction and can be used to spur me on to pursuing purity.

"Clean" brings up a lot of issues and viewpoints to consider--Chapter 11 I enjoyed and really dug into. The last chapter is kinda all over the place. He talks about having a community of believers where you can talk about issues. On the other hand, he points out a lot of behaviors measures.

A very uneven book. A few good thoughts scattered among behavioralistic platitudes.

Clean:  The structure is awkward and the tone of this book makes it less helpful than previous Weiss books, focusing not on the need that brings us to our knees but managing our and other's behaviors.
