Women Who Struggle
You are not alone Woman feeling hopeless

Men are not the only ones that can develop addiction to sex. A poll from ChristiaNet reported by Marketwire.com in August, 2006 showed that 20% of all Christian women are addicted to pornography. That is not the percent of women who have ever viewed pornography, those percentages are much higher, this is the percent actually addicted to pornography. And that was in 2006.

We continue to hear from pastors that an increasing number of women from churches are confiding in church leadership that they have become ensnared by addiction to some form of sexual conduct. Some counselors call women's addiction to sex a form of love addiction. Sexual addiction in women does have significant differences than what is found in male sex addicts.

What is Sexual Addiction in Women Like?
Sexual addiction in women is often focused around trying to find acceptance and value through fantasy or sexual behavior. The addiction never fills the need but the addict continues to try to meet the need through the same destructive behavior. These negative behaviors continue in spite of the damage it does to them and those around them.

Pure Life Alliance does not currently offer support groups for women who struggle with sexual or pornography addiction. We do, however, partner with counselors who can help, so please visit our Counselor Directory if you need someone to talk to about these issues.
